DDRS policy
INSA Hauts-de-France places the challenges of ecological transition, sustainability and social equity at the heart of its model. The SDRS dimension is thus fully integrated into teaching, educational projects and school policy, enabling the construction of a concrete impact strategy, shared by its entire community.
DD&RS certification
In 2025, INSA Hauts-de-France was awarded the DD&RS label (Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility)for a two-year period.
This label is based on a common national reference framework in existence since 2009, responding to the provisions of article 55 resulting from the Grenelle Environment Forum structured around five axes:
- Strategy and Governance
- Education and Training
- Research and Innovation
- Environmental Management
- Social policy
This national recognition, specific to higher education, attests to the willingness and steps taken by the establishment in favor of sustainable development and societal responsibility.
The DD&RS label guarantees INSA Hauts-de-France staff, students and partners the implementation of an impactful strategy for an effective and lasting transformation of practices.
Lessons and transitions
La Rentrée du climat is offered to all students entering the engineering cycle at INSA Hauts-de-France.
This Rentrée du climat is based on a fun, collaborative tool: the Climate Fresco. This initiative raises students' awareness of climate change and helps them to take up the challenge of the climate emergency, so that they can fully integrate these issues into their thinking and work throughout their course of study.
In September 2020, the INSA Group and the think tank The Shift Project joined forces to create the ClimatSup INSA project. Thanks to the collaboration between INSA teams and The Shift Project experts, ClimatSup INSA has made it possible to integrate socio-ecological issues at the heart of all INSA Group training courses in order to instill our new practices and approaches.
ClimatSup INSA has three main objectives:
- To train conscious engineers, capable of understanding and analyzing the growing complexity of the world in which they evolve professionally;
- Meet the growing demand for meaning on the part of students both in their training and in their future professional careers;
- Meet the current and future skills needs of organizations to effectively operate their own energy and ecological transition.
DDRS Division
The INSA Hauts-de-France benefits from a global DDRS approach carried out jointly with the UPHF thanks to its dedicated pole. This stems from reflections involving all users of the establishments (governance, teachers, researchers, staff, students) and leads to an ambitious project on societal issues.
The DD&RS cluster's mission is to:
- Participate in the development of the establishment's strategy;
- Implement the strategy and coordinate projects and actions;
- Implement the Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility labeling process;
- Be a resource and advice center;
- Conduct communication, awareness-raising and training initiatives;
- Organize events for all publics.
The dynamic carried by INSA Hauts-de-France irrigates at all levels of the establishment and for the benefit of all its stakeholders:
- at the pedagogical level: with the integration of climate, social and ethical issues at the heart of curricula and educational projects guaranteeing students training in tune with DDRS topics.
- at institutional level: with the deployment of actions and initiatives promoting the development of ecological, sustainable and supportive gestures (support for soft or shared mobility, waste reduction, awareness-raising events, ...)
